Overview

What this service covers and when to book

Most electrical firms in Nottingham are set up for householders. That works until you need a contractor who can price from a drawing, work to a programme, produce RAMS before arriving on site, and hand over documentation an approving body will accept.

Urgent Electrical Services has operated as an NICEIC approved electrical contractor across Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands since 2014. We work for facilities managers, property managers, main contractors, landlords with portfolios and business owners who need electrical work delivered to a schedule rather than squeezed between domestic call-outs.

Our commercial and industrial work covers new installations and fit-outs, distribution board and switchgear replacement, three-phase supplies, containment and cable management, LED lighting schemes, power distribution for machinery, and remedial work following inspection. Everything is installed to BS 7671 and certified on completion.

Alongside project work, we hold planned maintenance contracts. Fixed inspection intervals for EICR, emergency lighting, fire alarm and PAT testing are scheduled so certificates never lapse and compliance evidence is ready before anyone asks for it. For multi-site clients, we keep a single record across every property, which removes the usual scramble of chasing certificates from four different contractors.

We tender competitively and quote from drawings or specifications. Where a schedule of rates suits you better than job-by-job pricing, we will work that way. Accounts are available for established clients.

Because we also run genuine 24-hour cover, contract clients get out-of-hours response as part of the relationship rather than as an emergency premium from a company that has never seen the building. An engineer attending your site at midnight already knows where the boards are.

All engineers are qualified in current wiring regulations and carry full public liability insurance. We provide RAMS, work under CDM where applicable, and supply certification, test results and asset records in whatever format your compliance system needs.

How it works

From your call to a clear repair plan

  1. 01

    Enquiry and scoping

Tell us what you need, or send drawings and a specification. For maintenance contracts, we start with which sites you hold, what certificates exist and when each expires.

  2. 02

    Site survey

We attend, assess existing infrastructure, identify constraints and confirm what the work actually involves. On occupied premises, we plan around your trading hours at this stage, not after.

  3. 03

    Tender or quotation

You receive a priced proposal against your specification, or a schedule of rates for ongoing work. Provisional sums are stated as provisional rather than buried.

  4. 04

    Programme and documentation

RAMS, method statements and insurance details are issued before work starts. Where CDM applies, we work to it.

  5. 05

    Delivery

Work is carried out to BS 7671 by qualified engineers, with progress reported at whatever interval suits your reporting. Out-of-hours and phased working are available where downtime matters.

  6. 06

    Certification and handover

You receive certification, test results and asset records in the format your compliance system needs. For maintenance clients, the record is updated centrally and renewal dates are tracked.

  7. 07

    Ongoing account

Contract clients get priority scheduling, agreed rates and 24-hour response from engineers who already know the site.
