What this service covers and when to book
Keys are the weakest part of most buildings. When a member of staff leaves or a tenant moves out and the key is not returned, the only real fix is changing the lock and reissuing to everybody. In a building with any turnover, that becomes expensive, and it rarely gets done, which means nobody can say with confidence who currently holds access. Urgent Electrical Services installs access control and door entry systems across Nottingham and the East Midlands that replace that uncertainty with a record you control. A lost fob is cancelled in seconds. A contractor is given access to one door for one week. A departing employee is removed from the system before they reach the car park. We install proximity fob and card readers, keypads, audio and video door entry, and multi-door networked systems administered from one place. For blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation, we fit intercom systems that let residents see and admit callers, with trade release for deliveries where it is wanted. For commercial sites we set permissions by door, by person and by time, so cleaners, delivery drivers and office staff each reach only what they should, when they should. Door hardware is chosen to match the door and its use. Magnetic locks, electric strikes and motorised units all behave differently, and specifying the wrong one produces a door that binds, fails to secure, or wears out in a year of heavy traffic. The safety interface matters as much as the security. Every door we install has compliant emergency egress, with green break-glass units and free mechanical exit where required, and locks released automatically on fire alarm activation where the building demands it. Doors on an escape route must never depend on someone finding a fob in an emergency, and we install and test to that principle without exception.
