Overview
What this service covers and when to book
A socket that stops working may have a damaged accessory, a loose connection or a fault elsewhere on the circuit. Warning signs include cracked faceplates, scorch marks, buzzing, unusual warmth and plugs that no longer fit securely. These problems should be assessed rather than covered up by simply changing the faceplate. If a socket is hot, smoking or sparking, stop using it and seek urgent electrical assistance.
Our electricians investigate socket faults and carry out suitable repairs or replacements. We can replace single and double sockets, fit USB sockets and install additional outlets where the existing electrical installation allows. We also undertake outdoor socket installations for gardens, sheds and other suitable locations, with weather-resistant equipment and appropriate electrical protection.
Before installing a new socket, we assess the relevant circuit, its condition and whether the proposed addition is suitable. Work is completed in accordance with applicable requirements of BS 7671, with inspection, testing and electrical documentation provided where required. If further repairs or upgrades are needed, we explain the findings and proposed work before proceeding.
Urgent Electrical helps homeowners, landlords and letting agents arrange socket repairs, replacements and installations without unnecessary phone calls. Choose the service you need and book online.
