Under this regulation, the law will require that the metallic pipes that will be entering a building should have an insulated point of entry. With this, they won’t have to be connected to a protective equipotential. Also, final circuits of AC that supply luminaries will require RCDs to offer additional protection.
- Protection against thermal effects
Arc fault devices for detection (AFDDs) will be used to reduce the risk of fires; this will be done by putting them inside circuits of your AC.
- Selection and erection of wiring systems;
Under this regulation, the law will require all cables to be supported throughout the installation, not just in escape routes. This will prevent the premature collapse in the event of a fire outbreak.
- Voltage, disturbances, electromagnetic disturbances;
Conditions that were there for protection from transient overvoltages have changed.
- Requirements for heating systems’
The new edition contains additional necessities in order to protect against overheating that’s often caused by short circuits. Such heating units should be provided with a metal cover or even a fine mesh metallic framework; this is then connected to the short circuit’s protective conductor. As such, any chances for accidental overheating on the wall or anywhere for that matter will be greatly reduced.
